Teams Recap June 2020

Custom Teams Backgrounds

Microsoft Teams has a lot of amazing features to offer for any business. This month we started off with covering how users can create a custom background setting within the application. Currently, Background Effects in Microsoft Teams are limited to a handful of pre-defined images, but the software company has promised the capacity to add custom photos as backgrounds in some unspecified time in 2020. ‘Till then, you can manually add images to the ‘AppData’ folder of Microsoft Teams for your Windows PC as a workaround!

Security

In another blog post, we also covered ways that users can stay secure and protect the information that is shared internally through Teams. We discussed security, along with advanced threat protection, safe links, and safe attachments. The Teams app enforces group-wide and employer-extensive two-component authentication, unmarried sign-on through Active Directory, and encryption of records in transit and at rest. Files are saved in SharePoint and are backed via SharePoint encryption. Notes are stored in OneNote and are backed by using OneNote encryption. The OneNote facts are stored within the crew SharePoint site.

Teams Tips

Our latest post shared a bunch of fun tips and tricks that Microsoft Teams has. This information can help new Teams users or even the more advanced ones by showing some hidden gems that can be utilized in the application. One of our favorite tips is that you can blend together Outlook with Teams and hop over between the two seamlessly. A February update from Microsoft permits clients to share either a talk or channel discussion as an email to Outlook while never leaving Teams. Inside the message or channel, click “More Options”, select Share to Outlook, pick the receiver, tweak the email, and send.

Teams Connecting to Family and Friends

Microsoft Teams is not offering the app not just for businesses, but also for personal use by being able to share it with users friends and families. Microsoft isn’t rebranding Teams here or offering an absolutely discrete adaptation, nor is the organization hoping to go into competition with iMessage, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, or other devoted talk applications. It’s essentially repositioning the current Microsoft Teams application with highlights that may speak to a lot of individuals hoping to accomplish something other than only communicating within a business.

Being released at first as a preview for iOS and Android, Microsoft Teams for individual use will incorporate the nuts and bolts of texts and video calling, joined with shared records, reports, schedules, and location sharing. There’s even a dashboard of occasions, locations, assignments, and pictures that everybody in a team has shared with each other. Microsoft is attempting to take the entirety of the best highlights of Microsoft Teams for work and business and make them available for when you may be able to use them at home.
